Black Dog Memorial Hall was registered on 21st. May 1976 by The Charity Commission as Charity #270128.

Its constitution was sealed on the 27th. May 1976.

The Charitable Objective is:

PROVISION AND MAINTENANCE OF A VILLAGE HALL FOR THE USE OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE PARISH OF WASHFORD PYNE AND NEIGHBOURHOOD WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS, INCLUDING USE FOR MEETINGS, LECTURES AND CLASSES AND FOR OTHER FORMS OF RECREATION AND LEISURE-TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE SAID INHABITANTS.

Due public notice was given and the original 10 representatives were reduced to 7 at the AGM of 8th June 2005.
